BOISE, Idaho - Smerling Lantigua and Cam Schiller each had four hits, as the Spokane Indians took advantage of six errors and recorded 17 hits in a 15-1 victory over the Boise Hawks, before 2,655 fans at Memorial Stadium.

After spotting the Hawks a 1-0 lead in the first on a Dan Vogelbach RBI single, Spokane took advantage of back-to-back two-out fourth inning throwing errors by Marco Hernandez, setting the table for Joe Maloney, who crushed a three-run homer, giving the Indians a 3-1 lead.

Spokane took advantage of another miscue in the fifth, as with runners at second and third, James Pugliese enduced a comebacker to the mound, but Rock Shoulders lost the throw to first in the sun, allowing two to score. The Indians would add a Smerling Lantigua RBI triple in the sixth to push the margin to 6-1, then score nine runs over the final three innings against the back end of the Boise pen.

C.J. Edwards tossed five innings of two-hit ball to pick up his first win of the season, striking out six. Maloney and Ryan Rua both added two hits in the victory.

Pugliese took the loss for the Hawks, allowing five unearned runs in five innings of work.

The two teams head to Spokane tomorrow night to open a three-game series, with Tayler Scott meeting Jose Valdespina at 7:35 p.m. (MT).
