Indians announce 2006 television schedule

INDIANAPOLIS -- WHMB-TV 40 will air 13 Indianapolis Indians games in 2006, Tribe General Manager Cal Burleson announced Tuesday afternoon. The first telecast will be Opening Day (April 6) when Indianapolis travels to Pawtucket for a 7:05 p.m. contest. This will be the seventh consecutive season that select Indians games will air on the station.
Howard Kellman, who enters his 31st season as radio play-by-play "Voice of the Tribe," will move over to the TV booth for the WHMB telecasts at Victory Field.
"The Indianapolis Indians are very pleased to renew their television contract with WHMB TV-40," Burleson says. "As we celebrate the 10-year anniversary of Victory Field this season, this broadcast schedule will enable us to gain great exposure throughout central Indiana. This year's Indians team is going to be a good one, and we are excited about the opportunity TV-40 is providing for us as a part of our overall marketing strategy."

WHMB-TV 40 is a full-power Indianapolis television station with a tower on the northeast side of the capital city. From the tower, WHMB sends out a UHF signal to over one million households in Central Indiana. The station is carried by Comcast & Insight on Channel 9 and Bright House & Time Warner on Channel 22.
