
Braves announce opening homestand promotions

RICHMOND, VA - The Richmond Braves announce the promotions for their opening homestand of the season April 6 through the 13th. The Braves open the 2006 season Thursday vs. the Buffalo Bisons. The Braves and Bisons meet in a four game series the 6th to the 9th; then the Durham Bulls visit The Diamond the 10th to the 13th.
Thursday is Genworth Financial/ESPN 950 Opening Day. The festivities get underway at 1 PM with the unveiling of the Genworth Commemorative Player Banners. The banners feature 10 former R-Braves players and managers who went on to big league success. The banners will hang on columns on the outside of The Diamond. The unveiling will include Braves general manager Bruce Baldwin, manager Brian Snitker, and selected Braves players. The traditional first pitch will be thrown by Virginia Governor Tim Kaine. The first 4,000 fans will receive a poster commemorating the unveiling of the Genworth Commemorative Player Banners. Game time is 2 PM.
Friday is Henrico Doctors' Hospital/Lite 98 Schedule Magnet night. The first 5,000 fans will receive a free 2006 R-Braves magnet schedule courtesy of Henrico Doctors' Hospital and Lite 98. Game time vs. Buffalo is 7 PM.
Tuesday, April 11 is Smithfield Dollar Dog Tuesday/Richmond Times Dispatch Press Pass Night. Bring in your Press Pass coupon and receive a free General Admission ticket with the purchase of a General Admission ticket courtesy of the Richmond Times-Dispatch. Also, enjoy those great ballpark hot dogs for just $1 all night long courtesy of Smithfield. Game time is 7 PM vs. the Durham Bulls.
Wednesday, April 12 is Reese's Really Nuts Wednesday. Bring five wrappers with their UPC codes from any Reese's Really Nuts product to the box office and receive a free General Admission ticket. Wednesday the 12th is also dollar Pepsi day. Fountain Pepsi's are only $1. Game time is again 7 PM vs. the Bulls.
The homestand concludes Thursday, April 13. It's Easter at The Diamond and our first Senior Stroll. Kids, come out to The Diamond and participate in our annual post-game candy hunt. Also, all adults 60 and over can stroll the bases after the game. It is also Day Care Day. Day Care facilities receive General Admission tickets for just $3.00 each when pre-ordering of 25 tickets or more. Game time is 2 PM vs. Durham.
