
Indianapolis Signs LHP Travis Miller

INDIANAPOLIS, IND. -- Lefthanded relief pitcher Travis Miller has been signed as a free agent by the Indianapolis Indians. The Indians roster will be at full strength for the first time since April 27 when Miller joins the team today.
Miller, 30, made five appearances in the Cincinnati Reds organization this season before being released on Thursday. Miller made one appearance for Double-A Chattanooga and four appearances for Triple-A Louisville. He worked four scoreless innings for the Bats recording four strikeouts.
Miller, 6'3", 210 lbs., is a veteran of seven seasons in the major leagues with the Minnesota Twins. After debuting with the Twins in 1996, Miller made a career-high 67 appearances in 2000 going 2-3 with a 3.90 ERA. Last year he made five appearances for the Twins going 0-0 with a 4.50 ERA. He also pitched for Edmonton, Iowa and Buffalo combining to go 1-3 with a 4.04 ERA in 40 relief appearances.
Over his seven seasons in the majors, Miller made 203 appearances including 14 starts. He went 7-18 with a 5.05 ERA and one save in 267.1 innings.
An Ohio native, Miller attended Kent State University.
