Indiana Selects Jeanette Pohlen in First Round of WNBA Draft

INDIANAPOLIS - The Indiana Fever has selected Stanford guard Jeanette Pohlen with the ninth pick in today's WNBA Draft. An Associated Press first-team All-American and the Pac-10 Player of the Year, Pohlen guided the Cardinal to the NCAA Final Four where it lost in last week's national semifinal to eventual champion Texas A&M. As a senior, the 6-0 point guard averaged 15.8 points and 4.8 assists per game while leading Stanford to a 33-3 record and a top three national ranking the entire season.
