Indiana Organ Procurement Organization Will Reward Winner of Mad Ants Get Fit Challenge with $1,000

Fort Wayne, IN, November 11, 2011- The Fort Wayne Mad Ants have partnered with the Indiana Organ Procurement Organization to offer a $1,000 prize to the school with the most participation in the Mad Ants Get Fit Challenge. The $1,000 prize will be used for fitness, athletic, or health education equipment.

The Mad Ants Get Fit Challenge is a program that encourages children and their parents to lead active lifestyles. The Mad Ants have partnered with DeKalb Health, Neurological Spine & Pain, Fort Financial Credit Union, and the Indiana Organ Procurement Organization to make this program possible.

Students in participating schools will keep track of their physical activities for one month this season. Kids who have completed 30 minutes of activity outside of school for 30 days will receive a free ticket to a Mad Ants game. The school with the highest percentage of students to participate will win the grand prize!

Schools that are participating in the Get Fit Challenge include Perry Hill Elementary, Cedar Canyon Elementary, Northern Heights Elementary, Heritage Elementary, Lafayette Meadows Elementary, Most Precious Blood, JE Ober Elementary, Huntertown Elementary, Oak View Elementary, Haverhill Elementary, Harris Academy, and St. Peter's Immanuel Elementary.

Indiana Organ Procurement Organization (IOPO), a non-profit health service, is the vital link between people waiting for a transplant and potential donors. As a community service, IOPO sponsors school programs that teach students about the human body, healthy choices and helping others.
