Indianapolis, Indiana- John Kemp piled up four points (one goal and three assists) and Garret Roe scored twice and added one assist to propel the host Indiana Ice to a 6-3 win over the RoughRiders Friday night.

The Ice scored three straight second period goals to turn a 2-1 deficit into a 4-2 lead. Mike Phillipi shoveled a Jake Skjodt feed home from the doorstep to tie the game at

two at 6:00 of the second.

At 9:46 Eric Kattelus gave the Ice a 3-2 lead with a shorthanded goal. Kattelus skated through the Rider goalmouth unchecked and lifted a backhander past Rider netminder Richard Bachman (24 saves).

The Ice extended the lead to two while on the power play. Roe steered a Kemp pass in from the doorstep at 12:37 of the middle frame to make it 4-2.

The Riders clawed back within one at 16:39 of the third period with a power play goal of their own. Jacob Cepis buried the rebound after Indiana goaltender Alex Kangas (22 saves) stopped Rob Bordson's initial bid.

The Ice bounced back to put Cedar Rapids away with a pair of late goals.

Indiana was on the power play when Kemp wristed a Roe centering pass into the back of the net to finish of a 2-on-1 rush with 1:39 left in the third.

Brent Gwidt's empty net goal made it 6-3 just 40 seconds later.

The Ice got the early jump on the Riders when Roe scored with a wrist shot from the high slot at 13:36 of the first period.

The Riders scored twice early in the second to take a short-lived lead.

Dan Dries slipped a loose puck past Kangas from the edge of the crease just 44 seconds into the period.

Kevin Wehrs blasted a power play goal home from the blue line one minute and 58 seconds later to make it 2-1.
