In Exciting Affair, Stingers Beat Honkers in 11 Innings

Willmar, Minn. - In an unbelievably hard fought affair, the Willmar Stingers pulled out a big win on Tuesday night defeating the Rochester Honkers by a final score of 10-5 in 11 innings.

Willmar was catapulted into the lead after in the third inning. Tyler Reichenborn (St. Louis) belted a two-run homer over the right-center field scoreboard giving Willmar a 2-1 advantage.

Jonathan McKinney (Georgia Gwinnett) had a very nice outing, going six strong innings, striking out six and walking just one. McKinney also only allowed one run to cross the plate.

The Honkers ended retaking the lead in the eighth inning, but Willmar fought back, going back up by two in the ninth only to have Rochester tie it up in the ninth once again.

Willmar finally broke away in the 11th inning scoring five and giving themselves a 10-5 victory.

Reichenborn finished the night going 4- 7 at the plate and earning CID player of the game honors.

Willmar Will play a double header in Duluth starting Wednesday afternoon.
