CARY, N.C. (Saturday, June 26, 2010) - The Carolina RailHawks (3-2-6, 16 pts) tied the Montreal Impact (4-3-5, 17 pts) 2-2 on Saturday night. Second half sub Sallieu Bundu kicked off scoring for the RailHawks, and Floyd Franks buried a penalty kick to put the RailHawks up 2-0. The Impact scored twice in the last 15 minutes, the last goal came on a controversial penalty kick awarded in stoppage time to come away with a tie.

"We dug really deep tonight after playing a hard game on Tuesday," said Rennie. "We showed enough energy to win the game." When asked about the controversial decision against Bundu late into stoppage time, Rennie said that he had never seen anything like it. "I hardly ever complain about the referees, but that was a bit too much for me," said Rennie.

Goalkeeper Eric Reed and the RailHawks withstood a few Impact opportunities within the first ten minutes. In the 37th minute, Reed came up with a huge save on Montreal's Roberto Brown to keep the score level. The RailHawks nearly took the lead in the waning moments of the first half but Cory Elenio's cross soared just over the top of Etienne Barbara's head.

In the 59th minute, Sallieu Bundu entered the game for the RailHawks. In the 61st minute Bundu's first touch put the RailHawks on top 1-0. A free kick on the right flank allowed David Hayes to send in a cross, which Bundu directed off the right post and in.

RailHawks midfielder Floyd Franks converted a penalty kick in the 73rd minute to put the RailHawks on top 2-0. Daniel Paladini drew the penalty kick moments earlier by receiving a pass from Josh Gardner and spinning past his defender, only to be brought down illegally.

In the 75th minute, Simon Gatti tallied Montreal's first goal off a corner kick. Then, in stoppage time, Sallieu Bundu was called for a controversial handball at the top of the box to give Montreal a penalty kick. Tony Donatelli slotted the penalty kick home to escape WakeMed Soccer Park with a 2-2 draw.

Next, the RailHawks embark on a four game road trip, starting with AC St. Louis on July 3, at 8:10 p.m. The RailHawks return to WakeMed Soccer Park Tuesday, July 27, to square off with the Rochester Rhinos at 7:00 p.m. Tickets for this and all RailHawks home games can be purchased at the LGFCU Box Office, by calling 919-859-5425 or by visiting www.carolinarailhawks.com.
