
Impact Announces 25-Player Roster for CONCACAF Champions League

MONTREAL - The Montreal Impact unveiled on Monday its 25-player roster for the upcoming Concacaf Champions League games.
The roster includes goalkeepers Clément Diop, James Pantemis and Jonathan Sirois, defenders Rudy Camacho, Luis Binks, Rod Fanni, Mustafa Kizza, Zachary Brault-Guillard, Joel Waterman, Karifa Yao, Clément Bayiha and Keesean Ferdinand, midfielders Victor Wanyama, Samuel Piette, Amar Sejdic, Orji Okwonkwo, Emanuel Maciel, Tomas Giraldo, Nathan-Dylan Saliba, Rida Zouhir, Jean-Aniel Assi and Sean Rea, and forwards Anthony Jackson-Hamel, Mason Toye and Romell Quioto.
Note that despite their names being included on the official roster submitted to the Concacaf, Rod Fanni, as he is absent since the return to training, and Emanuel Maciel, because of an injury, will miss the competition.
The following players are injured: Ballou Tabla, Shamit Shome, Maximiliano Urruti, Lassi Lappalainen, Mathieu Choinière, Steeven Saba, Jukka Raitala.
The following players will not take part: Bojan, Jorge Corrales.
The Impact will play its Concacaf Champions League quarterfinal return leg, against CD Olimpia, from Honduras, on Tuesday, December 15, at 8pm EST (RDS, TSN, 98,5fm, TSN 690) at Exploria Stadium, in Orlando, Florida.
In the round of 16, the Impact won against Costa Rican club Deportivo Saprissa. Then, in the first leg of the following round, on March 10 at Olympic Stadium, CD Olimpia won 2-1. The conclusion of this series on aggregate goals and the end of the tournament were postponed since then due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
The winner of this series will face in the semifinals the winner of the quarterfinal matchup between New York City FC (MLS) and Tigres UANL (MEX) on Sunday, December 19, at 8pm EST. The final will be played on Tuesday, December 22.
