WINNIPEG, MB - The Winnipeg Football Club announced the re-signing of import linebacker Isaiah (Ike) Charlton today.

As per team policy, details of the agreements are not disclosed.

Charlton (6-0, 208, Virginia Tech '00, DOB: Oct. 25, 1977 in Orlando, FL) returns to the Blue Bombers for his fifth year with the football club.

The veteran linebacker made 13 starts last season, including the East semi-final against Edmonton.

He accumulated 36 defensive tackles, four pass knockdowns, one quarterback sack, and a fumble recovery in the regular season.

"This was an important re-signing for our coaching staff and organization. Strong side linebackers with Ike's skill-set are hard to come by," said head coach Mike Kelly.

"We are very pleased that he has chosen to remain a Bomber."

Charlton has been a force during the last four seasons as a Blue Bomber. In 37 career regular season games, Charlton has registered 131 defensive tackles, seven pass knockdowns, two forced fumbles, four sacks, and six tackles for loss.
