PORTLAND, Ore. - NBA G League Ignite (0-13) drops the first of two against the Rip City Remix (6-3), 118-95, on Monday at the Chiles Center in Portland, Ore.
Tyler Smith led the way for Ignite with a final stat line of 19 points, four rebounds, three steals and two assists. London Johnson posted 16 points, five assists, four rebounds and four steals on 6-of-10 shooting from the field. Ron Holland and Babacar Sane added 15 points each, while Sane grabbed seven rebounds. John Jenkins poured in 13 points.
Antoine Davis paced the Remix with 22 points, six rebounds and three steals on 8-of-14 shots from the field, including 5-of-11 from behind the arc. D'Moi Hodge followed closely with 21 points and four steals, while Alex Reese tallied 19 points and five rebounds.
The Remix built a 23-point cushion at the halfway mark (68-45) after three players poured in at least 10 points in the first half, led by D'Moi Hodge, who poured in 15 of his 21 points on 5-of-9 shooting from the field, including 3-of-6 from the three-point line during that span. Ignite was held to 20 percent (3-of-15) shooting from the three-point line. Despite Ignite's struggles from the field, Ron Holland led the way with 12 points on 5-of-10 shooting from the field through two quarters. The Remix opened the third quarter by scoring nine consecutive points to extend its lead by 32 points early in the frame, forcing Ignite to call a timeout. Ignite quickly responded with a 12-0 run to cut its deficit to 20 points at the 6:49 mark in the third period. Ignite continued to chip away, closing the gap to 15 points late in the frame. The Remix fought off Ignite's comeback attempt to take control of the game in the fourth quarter en route to sealing the victory.
