Idaho's Bararuk Named In Glas Co ECHL Player Of The Week

PRINCETON, N.J. - David Bararuk of the Idaho Steelheads is the In Glas
Co ECHL Player of the Week for Apr. 10-16.
The 6-foot and 180-pound Bararuk scored in all four games, registering
eight points (3g-5a), including three multiple-point games against Las
Vegas in the West Division Semifinals.
The 22-year-old Bararuk opened the series recording an assist in the
Steelheads' 1-0 win in double overtime at Las Vegas on Apr. 11. He would
go on to score three points (1g-2a) the next day in a 4-2 win, while ending
the week with a pair of two point (1g-1a) games on Apr. 14, a 5-4 overtime
loss, and Apr. 15, a 4-2 win at home.
Selected in the fifth round (147th overall) by Dallas in the 2002 National
Hockey League Entry Draft and under contract to the Stars, Bararuk lead the
team with 26 assists and 39 points on the power play while finishing third
on the team in scoring with 71 points. He also ranked third in the league
with 39 power-play points and tied for 14th with 71 points in 65 games.
In his third season with the Steelheads, Bararuk began his professional
career in 2003-04 and he had 15 points (7g-8a) in 16 regular season games
and tallied 14 points (5g-9a) in 15 playoff games, helping the Steelheads
win the Kelly Cup. He also appeared in 52 games with Utah of the American
Hockey League where he had 12 points (5g-7a).
Bararuk split the 2004-05 season between Louisiana of the ECHL and Houston
of the AHL, scoring 36 points (14g-22a) in 42 games with the IceGators
while scoring four points (2g-2a) in 15 games with the Aeros.
The Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan native played four seasons with Moose Jaw of
the Western Hockey League from 1999-2003 where he had 172 points (68g-104a)
in 212 games. Making it to the playoffs in all four seasons with the
Warriors, Bararuk had 19 points (7g-11a) in 40 playoff games.
On behalf of David Bararuk, a case of pucks will be donated to a Boise,
Idaho area youth hockey organization by In Glas Co, the exclusive
puck supplier for the ECHL. In Glas Co has donated over 14,000 pucks
to youth hockey organizations in ECHL cities since it began sponsoring the
award in 2000-01.

Courville, Reading (2gp-2g-3a-5pts).
