Falcons' Holden Named Rbk Hockey ECHL Goaltender Of The Week

PRINCETON, N.J. - Jamie Holden of the Fresno Falcons is the Rbk Hockey ECHL Goaltender of the Week for Apr. 10-16.

The 24-year-old rookie went a perfect 4-0-0 on the week, helping the Falcons sweep San Diego in the Pacific Division Semifinals. He posted a 1.90 goals-against average and a .927 save percentage in the series which included three-straight one-goal games.

The 5-foot-11 and 185-pound netminder opened the series with back-to-back 4-3 wins at home. He had 27 saves, including all seven in the third period and two in overtime, on Apr. 11 and 28 saves on Apr. 12. He would then stop 22 of 23 shots in a 2-1 win at San Diego on Apr. 14 and would finish the series making 25 saves in a 5-1 win on Apr. 15.

Under contract to Cleveland of the American Hockey League, Holden went 20-7-5 and finished sixth in the league with a 2.55 goals-against average and had a .921 save percentage to help the Falcons go 43-15-14 and win their first Pacific Division title in 2005-06. Holden also appeared in 14 games with Cleveland of the AHL, going 5-7-0 with a goals against of 3.50 and a .894 save percentage for the Barons.

The native of Telkwa, British Columbia spent four years at Quinnipiac College, where he had a career record of 59-34-10 with a 2.49 goals-against average and a .921 save percentage from 2001-05. He led the Bobcats to their first Atlantic Hockey Championship and their first appearance in the NCAA tournament in 2005.

Runners Up: Phil Osaer, Florida (2-0, 2.75 GAA, .920 save pct.) and Matt Yeats, Idaho (2-1, 1.90 GAA, .941 save pct.).
