The Stampede return home this Tuesday after a five game road trip in which the team went 2-3. On Tuesday they play against Dakota and then have a rare Sunday evening game against the Mayhem.

Players to coach at Boys and Girls Club Saturday This coming Saturday, Stampede players will be coaching at the Boys and Girls Club of Garden City during their Club Exhibition Day. It is part of the B&G Club Kids Helping Kids program and all money raised will be donated to the Ronald McDonald House.

Part of the Exhibition Day will have a B&G Club basketball game between players in the club. Stampede players will be the "celebrity coaches" of the two teams. A press release with more information will be coming from the Boys and Girls Club shortly.

Jackson top gunner in the league; Chenowith top glass man David Jackson has proven that his CBA all-star 3-point championship was no fluke. Jackson leads the league in 3-point field goal percentage at 46.2% (98-212).

Eric Chenowith continues to dominate the boards. He averages 13.4 rebounds per game, over 4 more rebounds than the next leading player (Chris Alexander, Gary at 9.3).

Records are falling and the trend continues David Jackson has tied the Stampede franchise record for 3-pointers in a game with 8, tying current Cleveland Cavalier Damon Jones who hit 8 on December 11, 1998. Jackson has made 8 3's in a game twice this season, both against Rockford.

Eric Chenowith is the all-time leader in rebounds in a game with 29. He broke his own record of 25. Prior to Chenowith, Jerome Lane held the record with 24 set on December 1, 1998

Before his departure, Jermaine Boyette tied the Stampede single game steals record with 7. He now shares the record with Michael Johnson who had seven on March 4, 2003.

Team rebounds per game - The current Stampede record is 43.4 rebounds per game set during the 1998-99 season. This year's team is averaging 44.4.

Individual points per game - The current record is 21.7 held by Damon Jones (Cleveland Cavaliers) in the 1998-99 season. David Jackson currently averages 20.6. Jackson is also 23 3-pointers away from breaking Jones' record of 120 in a single season.

Individual rebounds in a season - Sam Clancy was the man last year and currently holds seven different Stampede records. One of those is rebounds in a season with 520. Eric Chenowith currently has 443 and needs to average 5.5 rpg the rest of the season to overtake that mark. Points in a season - Clancy also holds the record for points in a season with 918. Jackson currently sits at 700 and needs to average 15.6 ppg from here on out to break that record

It should definitely be fun to watch these records as the season winds down. Also, did you know that you can look at all the CBA statistics by going to the CBA website at www.cbahoopsonline.com? Click on the "Season Scores and Stats" link on the left to see what is what in the CBA.

Idaho Stampede vs. Dakota Wizards

Idaho is 2-4 versus Dakota this year. The Stampede lost their first four games against the Wizards this season but have won their last two meetings. They last met up on December 23 at Qwest Arena.

With the departure of Maurice Baker to Lithuania, the Wizards are now led by Kasib Powell and Damion Dantzler. Powell is averaging 18.1 ppg and 7.3 rpg while Dantzler is averaging 15.6 ppg and 8.4 rpg. Powell is also averaging 5.6 apg which is fourth in the league.

Dantzler has been a Stampede killer as well. He has continually hit big 3-pointers against Idaho in clutch moments to help Dakota win games. He averages 15.5 ppg in the six games against the Stampede this year.

It is no surprise that David Jackson and Eric Chenowith have been the shining stars against the Wizards so far this season. In six games the duo is averaging 30.8 ppg and 18.7 rpg and on November 26 against Dakota Jackson scored 28 while Chenowith broke the Stampede franchise rebounding record for a single game with 25 (he would later grab 29 against Sioux Falls). Then in their next match up Jackson had 21 points and Chenowith had 21 rebounds.

Sunday, February 12, 2006 Idaho Stampede vs. Michigan Mayhem

Idaho is 3-0 versus the Mayhem. This is the final match-up on the season for the two teams and probably for the season as the Mayhem are well out of playoff contention. They have lost 11 out of their last 13 and have not won a road game this season. They will play at Albany twice and then travel to Rockford and Yakima prior to visiting Boise.

The Mayhem are led by Willie Simms after Alpha Bangura left the team to play here in Idaho (and then overseas). He averages 19.7 ppg and scored 21 in the only game he has played against the Stampede.

In three games against the Mayhem, Eric Chenowith has been dominant averaging 14 points and rebounds. David Jackson averages 20.7 ppg and 4.0 rpg and Ricky Sanchez has also been a contributor with 13.7 points and 9.0 rebounds per game.
