
Idaho Lands Home Victory Over Bakersfield

BOISE, Idaho - The Idaho Stampede defeated the Bakersfield Jam 123-115 this evening in Boise.
In the third NBA Development League game broadcast on VERSUS this season both teams came out strong and put on a great show for the crowd of 3,276.
At the end of the first half the Jam were up 64-62. Brian Butch led the charge for Bakersfield with 13 points, five rebounds, and two blocked shots. The Jam's bench also contributed with Keith Brumbaugh scoring 12 and Will Daniels with 10. Donell Taylor and Lance Allred led the Stampede's effort with 19 and 16 points, respectively. Yemi Ogunoye came off the Idaho bench to finish the half with 10 points.
Both teams fought hard secure a win on national television going into the final quarter with the Jam up just five points, 95-90.
With 1:30 to go in the 4th, Roberto Bergersen stole the ball from the Jam and kicked it to Taylor. He passed back and Bergersen hit a three point jumper putting the Stampede up 115-111. With less then 15 seconds left in the game Lance Hurdle stole the ball from Blake Ahearn and was fouled. He went to the line and made both free throws, putting the Stampede ahead by five. Mildon Ambres was then fouled and also made both his free throws putting the Stampede up by eight and ultimately securing the win over the Jam.
"We played with more energy and focus," said Stampede Head Coach Bob MacKinnon. "I thought our purpose was singular instead of scattered as it was last night."
The Jam contributed six players in double figures including Brumbaugh with 19, Reece Gains with 18, and Blake Ahearn and Daniels with 10. Jeremy Wise led the Jam with 22 points, while Brian Butch earned a double-double with 20 points and 12 rebounds.
Taylor shot a game high of 27 points, and Allred pushed out his third double-double of the season with 25 points and 15 rebounds. Hurdle scored 14 points and 6 assists in his second game with the Stampede. Four other Idaho players scored in double figures including Bergersen and Ambres with 16, and Ogunoye with 10.
The Stampede stay home and will take on the Sioux Falls Skyforce this Wednesday, February 3 in Boise. Bakersfield heads home to take on the Los Angeles D-Fenders Monday and Tuesday night.
