Bakersfield Jam News Release
(Bakersfield, Calif., Dec. 19, 2007) - The Idaho Stampede cruised to a 105-86 victory over the Bakersfield Jam in the first of two contests in three days between the division rivals. Idaho center Lance Allred scored 17 points in the first half, leading the Stampede to a 60 -42 lead at the break. Allred finished with 25 points on 10-17 shooting to lead all scorers. Taurean Green, on assignment from the Portland Trailblazers, contributed 23 points and 11 assists on 7-14 shooting, and Roberto Bergersen added 17 points.
Bakersfield struggled from the field, shooting 37 percent for the game. Anthony Wilkins led six Jam players in double figures with 16 points and Kosta Perovic, on assignment from the Golden State Warriors tossed in 10 points with eight rebounds and a season-high four blocked shots.
"We were very cold tonight." said Bakersfield Jam head coach Jim Harrick. "We didn't have the shots fall when we needed them to. Fortunately, we turn around quickly and get them again, which will hopefully give us a chance to redeem ourselves."
The two teams will square off again on Friday at Rabobank Arena at 7:00 p.m. when Santa will visit Jam fans. In addition, the Jam have teamed up with Operation Soulwinner to help combat hunger in Kern County. Anyone bringing a canned food item to the game will receive free admission to see exciting NBA Development League action.
