Idaho Acquires Hamilton

BOISE, Idaho, February 27, 2013 - The Idaho Stampede have acquired Reggie Hamilton, the club and its NBA affiliate Portland Trail Blazers announced today.

Hamilton (5-11, 175, Oakland, b. 5/23/89) most recently played for Victoria Libertas Pesaro in the Italian Serie A, the top professional basketball league in Italy. Before that, Hamilton played in the NBA Summer League with the Indiana Pacers following his time in college.

Hamilton's prestigious NCAA career most notably includes his 26.2 points per game scoring average as a senior in 2011-12 with Oakland University in Michigan. With those points scored, Hamilton became the first ever Oakland University and Summit League player to win the NCAA scoring crown. Hamilton was an All-Summit League First Team performer that season, breaking the Summit League and Oakland University scoring records with 942 points. Hamilton had 17 30-point games and scored a career-high 41 points against Valparaiso University on Dec. 17, 2011. Hamilton also averaged 5.1 assists and 3.8 rebounds as a senior, helping him win the Frances Pomeroy Naismith Award, given to the most outstanding college basketball player 6-feet tall or shorter.

In four-year college career between Oakland University and the University of Missouri-Kansas City, Hamilton scored 2,185 points, averaging 17.6 over his 124-game career. After two seasons spent at UMKC (2007-09), Hamilton sat out the 2009-10 season as a transfer student at Oakland before averaging 17.6 points and 5.3 assists per game as a redshirt junior. Hamilton attended Thornwood High School in Chicago, the same high school as NBA star Eddy Curry.

Hamilton will wear jersey No. 4. In addition, the Stampede placed guard Carlon Brown on the inactive list due to injury (wrist).
