Corpus Christi IceRays News Release

Corpus Christi- The Corpus Christi IceRays of the Central Hockey League have acquired forward Cosmo Dupaul from the Lubbock Cotton Kings in exchange for defenseman Mike Dawson. The deal was finalized late Thursday night.

A native of Pointe-Claire, PQ, Dupaul was a fourth-round draft pick of the Ottawa Senators in 1993. He has spent the majority of his playing career in the Western Professional Hockey League with both the Fort Worth Brahmas and Lubbock Cotton Kings. Two seasons ago, Dupaul finished tied for 10th in the WPHL in scoring with 30 goals and 46 assists. Last year Dupaul led the Kings with 46 assists and was a Northern Conference selection for the 2002 All-Star Game.

"We're thrilled to have acquired Cosmo," said General Manager Taylor Hall. "He is one of the best two-way players in the league and may even become the best player on our team."

Dupaul should give the Rays an instant upgrade on the frontline. He is second all-time on the Brahmas list in goals (86), assists (120), and points (206) in just three seasons. Dupaul also became the Cotton Kings all-time leader in assists last year after picking up 92 over two seasons.
