Corpus Christi IceRays News Release

CORPUS CHRISTI, TX - Michael Dery will continue his NAHL career next season in Michigan after being dealt to the Warriors in exchange for Mike Economos.

As a rookie with the IceRays, Dery posted eight goals and ten assists in 47 games played this past season. He will join a Warrior's squad that made the NAHL playoffs in the North Division, however, lost to the Port Huron Fighting Falcons in four games in the divisional playoff round.

"We wish Mike the best of luck next season and appreciate all his hard work and dedication he brought to our team last season," said head coach Justin Quenneville. "He will now have an opportunity to play in his home state and for a great organization as well."

Mike Economos notched eight goals and assisted nine others in 51 games played while picking up 57 penalty minutes with the Warriors last season.

Head coach Justin Quenneville described Economos as tough, while having the touch to score as well. "We are excited about the acquisition of Mike Economos," Quenneville said. "Mike is a physical player who will bring additional toughness mixed with a good skill set and will add depth to our line-up in several areas."

In the 2010-2011 season, Economos played for the Chicago Young Americans U18 alongside Danny Fetzer, AJ Jarosz, and Eric Purcell.

Season tickets for the 15th year anniversary season of the IceRays are now on sale. Call the front office at 361-814-7825 for details or check out the pricing and seating chart online at www.goicerays.com.
