
IceMen Sign Defenseman Dan Sova

EVANSVILLE, Ind.- In a busy week of transactions, the Evansville IceMen, presented by Coors Light, have announced the signing of Dan Sova. The defensemen is expected to join the IceMen on Wednesday when they play the Reading Royals.
Hailing from Cottage Grove, Minn., Sova comes to the IceMen from the Pensacola Ice Flyers, the same SPHL team that produced IceMen Defenseman, Donnie Harris. Sova has eight assists in 31 games manning the blue line for the Ice Flyers.
The rookie played two seasons of junior hockey with the Waterloo Black Hawks of the USHL, before attending college at Michigan Tech. Sova played 108 career games with the Huskies, posting a collegiate best three goals and 10 assists in 2011-12.
Standing 6'4" and weighing in at 220 pounds, Sova collected 40 penalty minutes and was +6 in his time in Pensacola. He suited up for the Ice Flyers alongside current IceMen forward Mark Anthoine and former IceMen goaltender Garrett Bartus.
Wednesday's game will also be College night at the Ford Center. Students who bring an ID to the game can get $13 goal zone tickets and have the chance to win fabulous prizes from around the Tri-State Area.
