
ECHL Announces Fines, Suspensions

PRINCETON, N.J. - The ECHL on Wednesday announced the following fines and suspensions.
Utah's Wellar fined, suspended
Utah's Patrick Wellar has been suspended for two games and fined an undisclosed amount as a result of his actions in ECHL Game #412, Bakersfield at Utah, on Jan. 24.
Wellar was assessed a major penalty and game misconduct for elbowing under Rule #45.5 at 15:27 of the third period. He is fined and suspended under Rule #28 - Supplementary Discipline.
Wellar will miss Utah's games at Bakersfield (Jan. 30) and at Stockton (Jan. 31).
Under the terms of the Collective Bargaining Agreement between the ECHL and the Professional Hockey Players' Association, player fines collected by the ECHL are given to the PHPA for its ECHL Player's Hardship Fund.
Stockton's Larocque fined, suspended
Stockton's Mario Larocque has been suspended for four games and fined an undisclosed amount as a result of his actions in ECHL Game #420, Colorado at Stockton, on Jan. 25.
Larocque was assessed a major penalty and game misconduct for elbowing under Rule #45.5 at 1:53 of the third period. He is fined and suspended under Rule #28 - Supplementary Discipline.
Larocque will miss Stockton's games vs. Utah (Jan. 31) and at Alaska (Feb. 6, Feb. 7 and Feb. 8).
Under the terms of the Collective Bargaining Agreement between the ECHL and the Professional Hockey Players' Association, player fines collected by the ECHL are given to the PHPA for its ECHL Player's Hardship Fund.
Conboy fined, suspended
Andrew Conboy has been suspended for 20 games and fined an undisclosed amount as a result of his actions in ECHL Game #893, Elmira at Brampton, on Jan. 25.
Conboy was assessed a major penalty and game misconduct for cross checking under Rule #59.5 and a match penalty for deliberate attempt to injure an opponent under Rule #21.1 at 10:23 of the third period. He is fined and suspended under Rule #28 - Supplementary Discipline.
Conboy was released by Elmira on Tuesday. Per ECHL Playing Rule #60 (a) he is not eligible to play in the ECHL until March 21.
