IceHogs Host Stars for Stroll on State Night

Rockford, Ill. - The Rockford IceHogs (6-8-1-0) welcome the Texas Stars (8-6-1-0) to the BMO Harris Bank Center tonight for the first meeting between the two clubs in the 2016-17 campaign.

Puck drop is 7 p.m. and the IceHogs are hosting Stroll on State Night with the first 1,500 fans to enter the arena receiving an IceHogs scarf, courtesy of GoRockford.com. Santa Claus will be at Saturday's game and will be visiting with fans on the concourse by the GoRockford.com booth. He will also make an appearance on the ice and ride the Hamboni before the game. In addition, tonight's contest will also be the sixth annual Have A Skate With Bob where there will be a silent auction throughout the IceHogs game on the BMO Harris Bank Center concourse to benefit the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network.

Fans unable to make the game can tune in to all the action on The Justice Network 23.3, beginning with IceHogs Warmup at 6:30 p.m. IceHogs fans can also listen to the game at WXRX.com or sportsfanradio1330.com, or watch live at AHLlive.com . Today's game will also be aired on Sports Fan AM 1330.

Rockford enters the matchup after a 3-1 road victory in Iowa. In Des Moines, the IceHogs power play converted on three of six chances. Defenseman Ville Pokka had a hand in all three goals, netting his first of the season and adding two helpers. Spencer Abbott also had two assists on the evening and currently leads the team in scoring with 10 points (4G, 6A). Sam Carrick also chipped in his first goal in an IceHogs sweater.

Texas leads the Western Conference with 52 goals on the season and ranks 10th on the power play with a 20.4 percent success rate. The Stars are led on offense by right wing Matej Stransky (7G-6A) and center Travis Morin (6G-7A).

The Stars are coming off a two-game split in Grand Rapids. Texas dropped the first game of the series Wednesday 6-3, but bounced back to win last night's contest 4-3.

The IceHogs split last year's four-game series with the road team victorious in each contest. Rockford tallied 11 goals in their last two games with the Stars.

Next Home Game: Wednesday, Nov. 23 vs. Cleveland Monsters at 7 p.m. The IceHogs host the Monsters for the first of 10 Winning Weekday games, presented by Fas Fuel. After every IceHogs week-day home win, all fans in attendance can redeem their game ticket for a FREE ticket of equal or lesser value to the next weekday game. Also, one lucky fan in attendance will WIN a $50 gas card courtesy of Fas Fuel. It is also WXRX Dollar Days where fans can take advantage of $2 beers, soft drinks, hot dogs, and companion tickets.
