Elmira Jackals News Release

The Jackals could not take the momentum of Saturday's colossal win into their Sunday matinee with Adirondack. The IceHawks would score all of their goals first, getting two in the first period on Ryan McIntosh, then a quick goal to start the second against replacement Peter Aubry.

But the Jackals fought back in the name of Don Smith. Smith tucked a backhand shot under the cross bar late in period two which put Elmira on the board. Halfway through the final frame, Smith tipped in a shot from Trevor Burgess with two seconds left on the power play.

Elmira pulled Aubry and fought to the finish but they could not get the equalizer past Scott Dickie who was spectacular, stopping 43 of 45 for the IceHawks.

Elmira goes up to the Glens Falls Civic Center this Wednesday for a grudge match with Adirondack. The Jackals next home game is 7 pm against the Flint Generals.
