IceGators-Aeros Continue Relationship

Lafayette, LA â Louisiana IceGators Head Coach and Vice President of Hockey Operations Todd Gordon today announced the team has reached a working agreement with the Houston Aeros for the 2004-05 season. This marks the 4th consecutive season the IceGators and Aeros will have a working relationship.
"We've had a good working history with the IceGators and the proximity between Houston and Lafayette is ideal for our needs," said Matt Shaw, Assistant Coach and Assistant General Manager of the Aeros. "It's been a good relationship in the past and we are looking forward to a working relationship with a new head coach, Todd Gordon. We have a lot of confidence in his ability to work with young players."
Due to the current NHL labor situation, it is not known how many players from Houston will be assigned to the IceGators. In past seasons, players such as Tony Tuzzolino, Derek Gustafson, Kevin Mitchell, Max Fortunus and Bobby Brown have become IceGators due to the relationship between the two organizations.
"Obviously, we are very happy to continue our connection with the Houston Aeros," said Gordon. "I coached against the players that have come from Houston over the past seasons, now I look forward to working with that type of talent."
