Titans Raise Shields At Forward

TRENTON, NJ (September 15, 2004) - The Trenton Titans announced today that they have agreed to terms with forward Ryan Shields for the 2004-05 season. Per club policy, the terms of the deal were not disclosed.

"Ryan's a quality player that makes good use of his speed and size," said Mike Havliand, Titans Head Coach and Director of Hockey Operations. "He's very responsible on both ends of the ice and we're excited to have him in camp."

Shields, 23, enter his rookie season with the Titans after completing his collegiate career at Renssaler Polytechnic Institute. In four years with the Redhawks, Shields totaled 23 goals, 28 assists and 89 penalty minutes in 138 games. His best season came in 2002-03 when he set career highs in goals (7), assists (11) and points (18).

A native of Portage LaPrairie, Manitoba, Shields becomes the twenty-second player to sign with Trenton for the 2004-05 season.
