
IceDogs Win Fifth Straight

The Niagara IceDogs increased their winning streak to five games with a 6-5 win over the Barrie Colts Thursday night at the Meridian Centre.
Brandon Prophet opened the scoring for the Colts, before Mikkel Aagaard answered with his 10th goal of the season. Rasmus Andersson and Carter Verhaeghe exchanged goals to make it 2-2 after one.
The IceDogs power play was on fire in the second period. Vince Dunn got the first of four power play goals in the middle frame. Blake Siebenaler and Anthony DiFruscia also scored with the man advantage to make it 5-2 IceDogs. Andersson answered with his second of the game, but Dunn restored the three goal lead with his second power play tally of the game.
A pair of goals in the third period by Andrew Mangiapane and Kevin Labanc made it a 6-5 game, but the IceDogs held on to win their fifth consecutive game.
Brent Moran made 27 saves in net for the IceDogs.
They're back at it Saturday night when they host the Ottawa 67's at the Meridian Centre.
