
IceDogs Rookie Wins Top Academic Award

St. Catharines, Ontario - The Ontario Hockey League today announced the scholastic award winners for the 2007-08 season and amongst them was IceDogs forward Alex Friesen. Alex was awarded the Ivan Tennant Memorial Award, annually presented to the Top OHL academic player in High School. Also announced today was Ryan Ellis of the Windsor Spitfires as the winner of the Bobby Smith Trophy as the OHL's Scholastic Player of the Year while Scott Aarssen of the London Knights won the Roger Neilson Memorial Award as the OHL's top academic player attending college or university
