The 'Dogs got off to a hot start tonight, picking right up where they left off on Sunday in Mississauga. Ben Jones and Matthew Philip went streaking into the offensive zone early in the 1st period. Jonesy found Kirill Maksimov behind the net, to feed Philly for the one time between the faceoff circles to take the 1-0 lead! Four minutes later, the Petes tied the game. But, it was Ben Jones who re-gained the lead for the IceDogs with under 7 minutes to play in the 1st period. The IceDogs carried the 2-1 lead into the 2nd period.
The Petes scored two consecutive goals in the middle frame to take a 3-2 lead. Facing a flurry of shots in the period, Colton Incze made an incredible stick save to keep the puck out of the net.
The 'Dogs came out hard in the third period but just couldn't beat the CHL goaltender of the week, Hunter Jones. The Petes added two more goals in the 3rd period (1 empty netter), to take this one 5-2.
