Niagara IceDogs News Release

The Niagara IceDogs fell to the visiting Belleville Bulls 7-2 on Friday night in front of a sellout crowd of 3,145 at the Gatorade Garden City Complex.

The IceDogs jumped out to the lead 12:27 in the first as newly named captain Ryan Strome did not take long to make his mark in his return, scoring his 23rd goal of the season. The lead would not last long unfortunately as Belleville would answer with a pair of quick goals to take a 2-1 lead. The IceDogs responded however, as rookie Aaron Haydon would answer back before the end of the period to make it 2-2. Shots after one were 19-9 Belleville.

Belleville would retake the lead 1:53 into the second. The score would remain that way for the majority of the period, until Belleville would score at the 17:04 mark of the period to make 4-2. They would then add another only 43 seconds later to make it 5-2 after 40 minutes. Shots after two were 27-22 for the visitors.

Belleville would add a pair in the third to make it a 7-2 final. Final shots were 46-24 Belleville.

The IceDogs will return to action tomorrow night at 7pm when they play host to the visiting Peterborough Petes. Tickets for this and all other IceDogs home games are still available and can be purchased at all IceDogs ticketing locations.
