KINGSTON, ON - The Niagara IceDogs knocked off the Kingston Frontenacs Sunday afternoon after earning a 5-2 road victory to finish the weekend. Ryan VanNetten scored his first OHL goal while 16 year old, Kevin He lead the way with 4 points (2G, 2A). Josh Rosenzweig stood tall between-the-pipes stopping 31/33 shots he faced.

Starting Goaltenders: Josh Rosenzweig (NIAG), Ivan Zhigalov (KGN)

A back and fourth opening period would find it's first goal scorer in Kevin He at the 13:23 minute mark with a backdoor pass from Lavoie to open the scoring. The game-tying goal came from Ludwinksi of the Frontenacs with just under 2 minutes left in the first frame. After 20 minutes of play the shots read 10-7 in favour of the home team while Niagara went 2/2 on the penalty kill.

The second frame did not start in Niagara's favour as Gage Heyes put the Frontenacs ahead with a short-handed marker. The momentum turned in the IceDogs favour just passed the second half as Kevin He would ring one off the post to find the rookie Ryan VanNetten on the doorstep to net his first career OHL goal. Just two minutes later, David Jesus would fire a point shot into a screened Frontenacs goaltender and put Niagara ahead by 1. Ryan VanNetten would be credited with an assist for his first multi-point night while Kevin He notched his third point with the secondary assist on the play. After 40 minutes shots read 23-11 for Kingston as Josh Rosenzweig continued to stand tall.

The majority of the third period was held scoreless until 17 minutes in as Michaud and Jesus set up Alex Assadourian to fire a wrist-shot upstairs and increase Niagara's lead 4-2. The IceDogs sealed the deal with 2 minutes to play on the clock as Kevin He found the empty net to notch his second goal and fourth point in the IceDogs 5-2 win. Josh Rosenzweig was awarded second star stopping 31/33 shots on goal.

The IceDogs next game is back at home on Wednesday at 7:00 PM to take on the visiting Barrie Colts.
