IceDogs Blueliner Out Indefinitely

St. Catharines, Ontario - The Niagara IceDogs announced today that Defenceman Alex Pietrangelo was diagnosed with mononucleosis and will be out of the lineup indefinitely. The ailment was diagnosed Saturday after Alex was forced to leave Game 2 with stomach pains.

The IceDogs would like to wish Alex the best and are hoping for a speedy recovery. Fans are asked to send any good wishes to info@niagaraicedogs.net or drop them off in person at the IceDogs office (35 Queen Street in St. Catharines). In addition, a card for Alex will be at the Booster Club table at tomorrow night's game for fans to sign.

The IceDogs will resume their series with the Oshawa Generals at home Tuesday night. Puck drop is scheduled for 7:30pm with doors opening at 6:30. The 'Dogs will be looking for retribution after the Generals squeaked out a 4-1 victory Sunday night in Oshawa to take a 2-1 series lead. Standing room tickets are still available for Tuesday night's game, but fans are encouraged to buy soon as they are going fast. Come on out to support the boys as they continue their push towards the Memorial Cup!!!
