Niagara IceDogs News Release
The Niagara IceDogs scored three times in the second period en route to a 4-1 over the London Knights Friday night in London.
Brendan Perlini scored the only goal of the first period, his 19th of the season, just 31 seconds into the game.
Carter Verhaeghe extended it to a two-goal lead 4:05 into the second with his 23rd of the season. Ryan Mantha's power play tally just over five minutes remaining in the period extended his goal scoring streak to three games, and gave the IceDogs a 3-0 lead. Aaron Haydon made it 4-0 minutes later.
Matt Rupert scored the only goal of the third period on the power play, but the IceDogs wouldn't let them any closer than that as they took this one 4-1.
Brent Moran made 28 saves in goal for the IceDogs, helping them to their second win in as many nights.
These two teams are back at it Sunday afternoon at the Meridian Centre in St. Catharines.
