Niagara IceDogs News Release

Niagara IceDogs General Manager Dave Brown is pleased to announce the signing of Randy Ladouceur as assistant coach. With the signing of Ladouceur, the IceDogs 2009/2010 coaching staff is now complete. Ladouceur has an impressive resume in terms of both his playing and coaching careers.

As a player, Ladouceur spent fourteen seasons as an NHL defenseman with Detroit, Hartford and Anaheim. He recorded 156 points and 1,322 penalty minutes in 930 career games.

As a coach, he has served as an assistant for both the Toronto Maple Leafs and the 2004 Stanley Cup Champion Carolina Hurricanes. The Brockville native also has OHL experience, having served as head coach for the Oshawa Generals.

The signing of Ladouceur completes the formation of the IceDogs new look coaching staff with Ladouceur joining recently hired assistant coach Frank Girhiny and newly promoted head coach Mike McCourt.

The IceDogs are excited about the additions they have made to their coaching staff and are looking forward to getting started on what should be an exciting season of IceDogs hockey.

The coaching staff will get to work immediately with IceDogs training camp kicking off this week.
