IceCaps Release Whitmore from PTO

The Winnipeg Jets, in conjunction with the St. John's IceCaps, announced today that forward Derek Whitmore was released from his professional tryout contract.

Whitmore, 27, has played in seven games with the IceCaps where he accumulated four points (1G, 3A) and two penalty minutes. The Rochester, NY native has now played in 325 career AHL games between Rochester, Portland and St. John's for 152 career points (86G, 66A) and 90 penalty minutes.
