Icebears Sign Right Winger

The Knoxville Icebears of the SPHL today would like to announce the signing of Right Winger Mike Craigen.

Craigen, a 5'6" 195 pound right handed shot, began his junior hockey career in the OHL in 2000 and after two seasons compiled 25 points (8G, 17A) in 80 games played. He also accumulated over 170 penalty minutes.

Craigen joins the Icebears this year after having played last year in the WHA2 with the Alabama Slammers. In his first year of professional hockey, Craigen played in 55 regular season games and 2 playoff games where he scored a very respectable 35 points (15G, 20A). He also posted playoff numbers with an assist. He accumulated over 200 penalty minutes fighting his way into the hearts of the fans and into the role of fan favorite.

Craigen says of the signing "After a long grueling summer of uncertainty, it's nice to know I finally found a home in such a great city and organization as Knoxville. I look forward to playing for Jim and am ready to get down to the business of hockey. I think the fans will like my aggressive style of hockey and I expect nothing but great things out of this season."
