ICE Win WHL Regular Season Championship with 8-2 Victory over Medicine Hat

The Winnipeg ICE completed a weekend sweep of the Medicine Hat Tigers Sunday night at the ICE Cave inside Wayne Fleming Arena thanks to an 8-2 victory.

The ICE, with a 51-10-3-2 record, reach 107 points in 66 games and clinch home ice advantage through the WHL playoffs as Regular Season Champions.

Mikey Milne (one goal and four assists) and Nolan Orzeck (five assists) each led the offense with five points. Matthew Savoie, Connor McClennon and Ben Zloty each scored two goals while Conor Geekie had the other marker.

Daniel Hauser stopped 24 of 26 shots from the Tigers. Medicine Hat's record drops to 11-52-3-1. Beckett Langkow made 25 saves for the visitors.

The ICE have two games remaining in the regular season schedule hosting the Regina Pats Thursday and Friday, both games start at 7:00.
