Colorado Crush News Release

FORT COLLINS, CO - The Colorado ICE (3-3) face the Fairbanks Grizzlies (3-3) this Saturday, May 9th at 7 p.m. (MTN time) at the Budweiser Events Center in Loveland, CO. The winner of this contest will move into second place in the Pacific division behind the Billings Outlaws.

The ICE and the Grizzlies previously met at the Budweiser Events Center on April 18th, 2009 with the ICE winning 61-30. The Grizzlies are coming off a hard 72-35 loss to the Billings Outlaws at home last Saturday. The ICE are also coming off a heartbreaking loss after a controversial touchdown was scored by the Omaha Beef in the last 0.4 seconds of the game last Saturday, snapping the ICE's three game winning streak. The Grizzlies feature a strong offense lead by WR Lonnie Sanders who currently leads the league in receiving yards (509) with 13 touchdowns. The ICE defense is allowing an average of less than 40 points a game. ICE DB Quentin Womack is currently amongst the league leaders in tackles, averaging more than 6 stops per contest.

"Our loss to Omaha was real tough," Head Coach Collins Sanders said. "But we are re-grouping and are looking forward to the contest this Saturday against Fairbanks. Fairbanks is a team that has continued to improve every week. I am sure the Grizzlies we face this weekend will be a much stronger team than when we faced them previously this year."

Saturday's game theme is "Ladies Night" and features a free mother's day flower for the first 500 moms that arrive to the arena and a chance to win a deluxe spa treatment. This Saturday's game can be seen live via Internet broadcast on the B2 network (B2tv.com) or on the radio on KJMP AM 870 ESPN. The ICE's next game is home on Saturday, June 6th at 7 pm at the Budweiser Events Center against the Alaska Wild.
