Billings Outlaws News Release
Lowell, MA (April XX 2009) - Xenith, a company dedicated to reducing the risk of traumatic brain injuries, today announced a partnership with the Billings Outlaws, a top team in the Indoor Football League. Xenith is outfitting the entire Outlaws team with its innovative X1 Football Helmet. The X1 features Xenith Adaptive Head Protection®, a system which provides an adaptive fit and a suspension of adaptive shock absorbers. The X1 is designed to reduce the sudden movement of the head that may cause traumatic brain injury.
"Two of our players suffered concussions last season, so we did our homework to find the best ways to protect our entire 35-player team from future head injuries," said Wally Yovetich, Billings Outlaws co-owner. Yovetich adds, "From the data we researched, we hands-down determined that Xenith's X1 helmet is the best product on the market to protect our valuable athletes and provide the safest headwear at all positions."
Two key members of the Outlaws organization will represent Xenith and its safety message off of the field. All-Star Outlaws quarterback Chris Dixon will speak at high school football clinics, camps and other athletic functions in Montana. Dixon will discuss the importance of safety on the field, and Xenith's mission to reduce the risk of concussions. Also, former University of Montana lineman Chase Raynock will promote the X1 helmet throughout Montana with the marketing and sales force of the Outlaws.
"We are very proud of this partnership with the Outlaws," said Vin Ferrara, founder and CEO of Xenith. "We have received an overwhelmingly positive response from coaches and players on the nearly 600 teams that wore the X1 last season, and we expect to have similar success as we outfit the Billings Outlaws. In addition, The Outlaws owners Mike Parnell and Wally Yovetich have clearly made the safety of their athletes a top priority, so they are great partners for Xenith."
For sports fans and athletes attending the Outlaws games, the X1 helmet will be available for purchase at the Plex Pro Shop in the Billings Sportsplex, starting this summer. The helmets will be offered in both adult and youth sizes, and will be accompanied by educational information about reducing the risk of head injuries.
About the X1 Helmet
The collection of technology inside the X1 helmet is called Xenith Adaptive Head Protection, which adapts to both a player's head size and the force of each hit.
Xenith Fit SeekerTM enables customization to the unique size and shape of a player's head, creating an instant snug fit with no inflation needed, which allows the helmet to stay secure during impact. The Xenith Shock BonnetTM creates a suspension of adaptive air cell shock absorbers, which allow the helmet to adapt its compression to the magnitude and direction of each impact. The design reduces the sudden movement of the head on every hit, reducing the risk of brain injury.
The X1 helmet is now available to teams nationwide.
