March 12, 2020 - Western Hockey League (WHL)
Winnipeg Ice News Release
A slow start to this one in Regina. Nine whistles in the opening seven minutes of game play kept the flow out of this one. Owen Pederson got the ICE on the board with his 28th of the season with Teply and Krebs picking up the assists. The assist was Krebs team leading 47th of the season in just 37 games. However the Pats would answer, ICE goaltender Liam Hughes lost his stick and Regina's Johnson would sneak his second of the year past Hughes to tie this game up at one.
Regina would strike first in the second period just as the ICE killed of a penalty. Nikita Sedov would score from the slot to give the Pats the lead. With just four seconds left in the period Isaac Johnson would cut to the middle and beat the Pats net minder to tie it up at two. Michael Milne and Jakin Smallwood picked up the assists.
Carson Lambos got the lead back for the ICE 1:27 into the third period as he ripped one from the point on a pass from Peyton Krebs. Chase Bertholet picked up his first career WHL point with an assist on Cole Muir's 11th of the season which doubled the ICE lead to 4-2. Michal Teply put in a rebound on the power play to extend the ICE lead to three. The ICE would end up scoring four unanswered goals in the third to take this one by a final of 6-2. Liam Hughes made 18 saves in the win.
