Ice players garner awards

INDIANAPOLIS - The Indiana Ice announced today that four players were selected for various postseason All-League teams that were determined by votes from the league's coaches.

Goaltender Brett Bennett and forward Mike Cichy were First-Team All-USHL selections which is the first time in five seasons that an Ice player has been a first-team choice.

Bennett was the league's top workhorse in net as he led all goaltenders in games (54), wins (35) and shutouts (4). Cichy was one of the premier playmakers in the USHL as he led all players in power play goals (17) and multiple goal games (7) and tied for first with 34 goals. He was also second in the league in points (76).

Joining the all-star duo as award recipients were defenseman Torey Krug and forward Stanislav Galiev who were elected to the USHL All-Rookie Team.

Krug was first among league defensemen in assists (37) and second in points (47). Galiev led all USHL players with seven game-winning goals (7) and was seventh overall in the league in scoring (64 points).
