USHL Names Players of the Week

Grand Forks, N.D. - The United States Hockey League (USHL) announced today its weekly honors for the final week of the regular season. Sioux City forward Adam Pawlick has been named Reebok Offensive Player of the Week, Cedar Rapids defenseman Matt Donovan has been named CCM Defensive Player of the Week, and Cedar Rapids goaltender Mike Johnson has been selected as the Stauber's Goaltender of the Week.

Adam Pawlick tallied two points (1g, 1a) in Friday's 6-1 victory over Tri-City. The following evening, the Utica, New York native scored a season-high four points (2g, 2a) in the 8-4 win vs. Omaha. Pawlick's first goal proved to be the game-winner and his second was his 20th goal of the season. The first-year player for the Sioux City Musketeers finished the season with 33 points (20g, 13a) in 53 games.

Matt Donovan dished out a power play assist in the 6-0 shutout of Indiana on Friday. On Saturday, he netted two goals, including the game-winner in the 4-1 win over Waterloo. In his second season with the Cedar Rapids RoughRiders, the native of Edmond, Oklahoma led all USHL defensemen in scoring with 51 points (19g, 32a) and finished the regular season riding a three-game scoring streak (2g, 3a).

Mike Johnson made 34 saves on Friday to earn his third shutout of the season in the 6-0 victory vs. Indiana. The next night, he stopped 24 shots in the 4-1 win vs. Waterloo. In his first full USHL season, the Verona, Wisconsin native ranked third in the USHL with 25 wins and fourth with a 2.39 GAA. Johnson has won his last four starts posting an impressive 0.73 GAA and a .973 SV%.
