INDIANAPOLIS - The Indiana Ice look to hit the big stage this weekend as they open the Bankers Life Fieldhouse portion of their schedule on Saturday against the Youngstown Phantoms at 7:05 pm. Saturday's game is presented by BMO Harris Bank.
Indy is coming off their first win of the season last Saturday, defeating Team USA U17 4-1 at the Ann Arbor Ice Cube. Samu Perhonen recorded 24 saves on 25 shots in the victory while Jacob Pritchard and Brian Pinho combined for five (3G, 2A) of their nine (5G, 4A) weekend points in the effort.
This will mark the first time the Ice and Phantoms meet this season. Youngstown dominated Indy in last season's 10-game series, logging a 9-1-0 record against the Ice in their fourth USHL season. Defenseman Vince Pedrie and forward Tyler Pham both finished the 2012-2013 campaign with five points (G, 4A) against the Phantoms.
Indy hits the road for a follow-up performance against Youngstown next Friday before returning to the friendly confines of Bankers Life Fieldhouse for "Kaplan University Night" against the Omaha Lancers on Saturday, October 19 at 7:05 pm.
