GAME PREVIEW: The Winnipeg ICE face the Swift Current Broncos in the second game of a back-to-back at home on November 2. Puck drop is scheduled for 7:30 P.M. CT.
Tonight's game will be the second meeting between these two clubs, following a 6-5 shootout win for the ICE over the Broncos on October 12th. After being down 5-1 in the first period, Isaac Johnson and Owen Pedersen lead the comeback, both picking up two goals each. Connor McClennon would go on to score the winner in the shootout. Jesse Makaj came in as relief in the first period, stopped 21-of-22 and all three Broncos players in the shootout. Swift Current has struggled, picking up only one win in their last 10 games.
Following tonight's contest, the ICE play host to the Red Deer Rebels on November 6th. Red Deer will meet Winnpeg in the later-half of a six game road trip to Saskatchewan and Manitoba. The ICE are busy in the month of November, with thirteen scheduled games, tonight being the second.
LAST GAME - 8-2 LOSS TO LETHBRIDGE: Winnipeg had their three-game home win streak come to an end with an 8-2 loss to the Hurricanes on Friday night. Michael Teply opened the scoring with his team-leading 5th goal of the season at 11:46 of the first. The Hurricanes would soon answer, scoring two to end the period, then two more to start the second. Oliver Okuliar lead the charge with three goals and an assist. Bryan Thomson grabbed the win for Lethbridge, stopping 25-of-27 shots. Both ICE goaltenders saw action in this game, with Dean McNabb coming in as relief in the third peirod.
