Indiana Ice News Release
INDIANAPOLIS-The Indiana Ice announced today that forward Jacob Pritchard has committed to St. Lawrence University. Pritchard is the sixth Iceman to commit to the Saints' roster and the third player in the past two seasons to join the institution in upstate (Canton) New York. He will join former Icemen Woody Hudson (11-13) and Drew Smolcynski (11-13) on the St. Lawrence roster with other former Icemen including Chris Martin (09-11), Sean Logue (09-10) and Mark Armstrong (05-06).
In his first nine games with Indy, Pritchard sits third on the team in goals (4) and is tied for third in points (7). Earlier this month, he recorded back-to-back multiple point nights, including a three-point (2G, A) outburst against Team USA U17.
St. Lawrence is an NCAA Division I member of the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC). The Saints have made 16 NCAA Tournament appearances and nine trips to the NCAA Frozen Four. Notable NHL alumni include two recent Stanley Cup Champions in Brandon Bollig (Chicago Blackhawks) and Rich Peverley (Boston Bruins).
The Ice also has additional ties to the university as the Ronald T. Burkman Gymnasium is named after the grandfather of Indy Assistant General Manager Jason Burkman. Burkman, a 1928 St. Lawrence graduate, was a standout baseball and basketball player for the Saints before returning to the school both as a coach and Vice President of the school.
Pritchard and the Indiana Ice continue their seven-game home stretch this Friday as Indy hosts the Cedar Rapids RoughRiders from Bankers Life Fieldhouse, presented by Stifel Nicolaus. The puck is set to drop at 7:05 pm.
Season and group tickets are now on sale for all 2013-2014 Indiana Ice home games. Flex packages and additional ticket packages are available starting as low as $50. For more information, call the Indiana Ice at (317) 925-4423.
