
Ice Flyers Win 5-2 against the Rail Yard Dawgs

PENSACOLA, FL. -Â The Ice Flyers came back from a loss the night before to win 5-2 against the Roanoke Rail Yard Dawgs in their second game of $5 Weekend at The Hangar in front of a crowd of 8,049 fans. The Rail Yard Dawgs' goals were scored by Colin Murray and Phil Bronner. Jessyko Bernard, David Mazurek, and Ken Neil scored for the Ice Flyers, with Charlie Adams scoring two goals.
The first period was eventful with the Rail Yard Dawgs scoring 19 seconds into the game with a goal from Colin Murray, assisted by Joe Sova. At 7:25 Phil Bronner made it 2-0 for the Rail Yard Dawgs with an unassisted goal. Jessyko Bernard, assisted by Christian Weidauer and Garrett Milan put the Ice Flyers on the board at 16:37, with Charlie Adams tying the game less than two minutes later at 18:08, assisted by Christian Weidauer as well. Pensacola outshot Roanoke 12-8 in the first.
The lone goal of the second period came 2:23 in from David Mazurek. He was assisted by Kyle Haines. The Ice Flyers once again outshot the Rail Yard Dawgs 17 -7.
Ken Neil scored at 8:24 in the third period with assists by Charlie Adams and Lee Christensen. Charlie Adams, assisted by Jessyko Bernard, scored his second of the game at 14:42 making it 5-2. Roanoke outshot Pensacola 12-6.
Notes:
Charlie Adams scored two goals and tallied one assist in the game.
Christian Weidauer tallied two assists.
The Ice Flyers then play the Mississippi RiverKings at home on Wednesday, March 7 at 7:05 p.m. This game is the rescheduled February 16 game against the Mississippi RiverKings. Any ticket purchased for the February 16 game will be valid for the March 7 game. All exchanges can be done at the Bay Center Box office in person Monday to Friday 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The Ice Flyers will then travel to Birmingham to take on the Bulls Friday, March 9 at 7:35 p.m. and Saturday, March 10 at 7:05 p.m.
