Colorado Crush News Release
FORT COLLINS, CO - The Colorado ICE (1-2) face the Fairbanks Grizzlies (2-1) this Saturday, April 18th at 7 p.m. at the Budweiser Events Center in Loveland, CO. This will be the first of two contests this season between the two Pacific Division teams.
The winner of this IFL intra-division matchup will take over 2nd place in the Pacific Division. This is the first of two ICE home games against the Grizzlies and the first ICE home game against a former Intense Football League team. The Intense Football League teams were known for their passing and Fairbanks is no exception, with 12 passing TDs in their first three games. The ICE feature a sound running game with the IFL's leading rusher, Terry Washington. The Grizzlies are coming off a loss against the Billings Outlaws after wins in their first two games against the Alaska Wild and the Maryland Maniacs. Last week the ICE secured a victory against a talented Bloomington Extreme team with a 44-26 final score.
"Sean Ponder is a coach with Arena Football League experience so I am sure he will have them ready to play," Head Coach Collins Sanders said. "They are big up front averaging well over 300 pounds. We look forward to the challenge of facing a new team."
Saturday's game theme will be "Go Green" with a special ticket promotion of $10 tickets for all Colorado State University students with a valid CSU ID. Prior to kickoff, the ICE will give special recognition to former CSU players on the ICE roster: QB Justin Holland, WR George Hill, DB Joey Rucks, DB Travis Garcia, LB John Clark, OL Brandon Alconcel, and OL Dane Stratton. Additionally, CSU mascot Cam the Ram will be assisting the ICE mascot, Glacier, during the game.
The Colorado ICE are members of the Indoor Football League (IFL). All home games are played at Budweiser Events Center in Loveland, Colorado. Single, group, and season tickets for the 2009 season are now available at the Colorado ICE headquarters by calling (970) 472-0128.
