Wichita Wild News Release
The Wichita Wild and RiverCity Rage will battle again on Saturday in Indoor Football League action (IFL). The Wild (1-2) and Rage (3-1) played last Saturday at Hartman Arena, where the Wild handed RiverCity their first loss of the year in a 56-40 thriller. The Game kicks off at 7:30 from Family Arena in St. Charles Arena. Fans can view the game for $7 online at www.b2livetv.com.
Last week against the Rage, running back Darius Fudge shouldered the offensive load for the Wild, carrying the ball 28 times and amassing 101 yards on the ground while also adding a touchdown. Fudge, who currently ranks third in the IFL with 54 rushing yards per game, set an IFL record for carries and a Wild franchise record for rushing yards in a single game. The Wild passing offense is currently ranked #1 in the league averaging 208.7 yards per game.
Linebacker Lamont Reid has continued to be a force on defense for the Wild recording 21 tackles in three games. Defensive back Byron Garvin led the team last week with 5.5 tackles including 1.5 for loss. The Wild defense will look to continue pressuring the quarterback after recording three sacks vs. the Rage last week. The Wild defense is currently ranked #5 in league allowing 175.0 yards per game.
RiverCity will be led on offense by quarterback Dixie Wooten. Wooten enters this week with a 113.9 passer rating which ranks third among IFL quarterbacks. Wooten threw for four touchdowns against the Wild after entering the game on the second play from scrimmage after an injury to starter Ben Sankey. However, a costly fumble in his own end zone near the end of the game sealed RiverCity?s fate.
The Rage defense enters the game ranked #7 in total defense allowing 185.8 yards per game. The Rage defense forced two turnovers vs. the Wild last week, returning both for scores. Joe Bevis led the way for the Rage with 9 tackles.
