18-year-old Conor Geekie recorded his first WHL hat trick Saturday in Medicine Hat to lead the Winnipeg ICE to a 5-2 victory over the Tigers. Geekie has four goals on 10 shots in three games since returning from Arizona Coyotes Training Camp.
Skyler Bruce and Jaren Brinson rounded out the scoring as Winnipeg improved their record to 4-0.
At the other end of the ice, 19 year old goaltender Keegan Maddocks recorded his first WHL victory making 32 saves.
Oasiz Wiesblatt and Tyler McKenzie scored for the Tigers, who outshot the ICE 34-23. Beckett Langkow suffered the loss in goal.
The ICE went 1/4 on the power play while Medicine Hat was 0/3.
Winnipeg returns to action Friday in Regina (7:30 pregame show on CFRW 1290).
