18 year old Daniel Hauser made 27 saves for his 1st perfect game in the WHL postseason as the Winnipeg ICE blanked the Moose Jaw Warriors 7-0 Saturday night at the ICE Cave inside Wayne Fleming Arena.
With the win, the ICE lead their WHL Eastern Conference Semi Final series 2-0.
Jack Finley scored the first two goals of the game inside the opening 3:35 to spark the offense. Connor McClennon, Matthew Savoie, Mikey Milne, Zach Benson and Chase Wheatcroft also found the back of the net as Winnipeg outshot Moose Jaw 34-27. Benson chipped in with three assists for a four point night.
The ICE went 2/5 on the power play and scored twice shorthanded. The Warriors were 0/3.
For the second consecutive game Moose Jaw goaltender Carl Tetachuk was pulled after allowing five goals. Jackson Unger turned aside 11 of 13 over the final 33:53.
The two teams make their way to Moose Jaw for Game 3 Tuesday and Game 4 Wednesday (both games start at 8:00CT).
